Recipe – Waking from Metempsychosis

If at death, a soul moves to a new body, and we forget the memories of our past life, then whether this is your last drink or first depends on your perspective.

In honor of Imbibe Magazine and Campari’s annual Negroni Week ( this drink is a take on the ubiquitous aforementioned.

It is meant neither to comfort nor distress, but to create a memory, for as long as the soul holds it.

(Note: Feel free to scale ingredient costs up and down to fit your budget. These are the brands/types we used.)

1 oz. chai tea infused gin (Tanqueray)
1 oz. Campari
2/3 oz sweet vermouth (Carpano Antica Formula)
1/3 oz. Green Chartreuse

Stir all ingredients over ice and strain into a rocks glass. Garnish with a slice of orange peel.

This drink is astringent, taking as much as it gives, making you reflect. Smoke and spice layer throughout.

May you find rest.
